The Explore Scientific 62 degree LER eyepiece 14mm AR is a 1.25 inch long eye relief (12mm) 62 degree apparent field short focal length eyepiece, ideal for comfortable viewing (particularly for those who wear glasses to observe). Ideal as a higher power eyepiece selection, particularly for compact deep sky objects, planetary observations and detailed views of the Moon (or Sun, with appropriate full aperture filter). This eyepiece provides excellent resolution and class-leading edge-to-edge field correction, by utilising high quality glass elements and Explore Scientifics EMD coatings. In addition to this, all internal edges are blackened, in order to prevent any stray internal reflections. While many modern eyepieces have larger apparent fields, this is often at the expense of eye relief and edge sharpness – Explore Scientific have taken the view that with this design, the emphasis is on sharpness, precision and comfort. The whole Explore Scientific 62 degree LER range are Argon purged – completely environmentally sealed – to prevent moisture, dirt or fungus getting into the internals of each eyepiece, guaranteeing years of trouble-free enjoyment.
